HOW DOE S A JUNKIE TRANSITION TO A NEWBIE MAKEUP ARTIST

hi so being a professed makeup junkie the transition to a newbie was not too challenging. here a some tips on how to make that transition smoothly.

  • Crtiticism- take all and i mean all criticism as constructive criticism even if you think someone is bashing you they really are trying to save you some embarassment in the near future. say thank you and look at ways that you can improve. blending is the hardest thing and that is always what i had to improve on.
  • Listen- listen to everything that you are told it may seem confusing but will come in very handy on the day you make your debut as a newbie.
  • Invest- it is very costly if you want to be a makeup artist and to become that you have to invest in the tools. but however you can be frugal about it. as a newbie u dont have to buy all the highend brands you can always have the lower end brands and then move up or you can stay low end but just improve your technique. once you have a good technique you will never tell the difference. good starter tools are ,12 piece brush set with additional blending and eyeshadow brushes. a lip palette or occ liptar and pigments. that i got from the pigpusher and it is also endorsed by jaleesa jaikaran on her blog. make sure to get a foundation and a powder palette and a couple concealers like la girl from wonderful has these. a good primer is jordana and sacha as well and a base either nyx or amplified. and you are set. until the junkie in you starts itching and you go to WW or Pennywise or anyother drugstore or fb seller to get your fix.
  • Be confident- if makeup is something you love it will come naturally. youtube is the best thing since sliced bread. i swear i learnt everything about makeup from youtube. i started with misschievous and then i went on to the others like petrilude, 401pinkkitty,photoboogie,paradox4589 and a whole list of others. if you can afford a makeup course your skills will be further enhanced Sacha, Arlene Villaruel, and Sarah Sookraj and Krysta G have affordable makeup courses. always remember to take pride in your work and let people see your best work.
  • Dont Steal- if you are copying someones work or technique ALWAYS acknowledge them it shows your honesty and skill level when others see how well you can recreate someones work
  • Be Boldface- if you are like me and nothing is being handed to you and you have to grab it take it .if you can see an opportunity for you to get more faces for a portfolio like a minshoot or small band launch just ask you may be used. i did that and i got to be with lacaray mas in uwi this year. just by being bold and asking. nwo you cant be obnoxious and boldface. be humble and you will see how things work out.
i hope this advice is useful to all the newbies out there and good luck with all your future endeavours.https://www.facebook.com/media/set/fbx/?set=a.111837762205862.11361.100001389165205
